Do you ever have that problem of wearing nice shoes to a wedding only to find that the shoes get dirty because you have to walk over grass or over the sand?  I find that problem all of the time. Sometimes, just to make sure that my nice shoes won’t get ruined, I will email the bride or bridesmaids to find out the location of the ceremony or I will bring an extra pair of shoes to change into so my nice shoes won’t get dirty.  I usually save my designer shoes to wear with my nice dresses for weddings that I attend.  Or, when I’m a bridesmaid, if I get to pick any shoes I want, then I have my back-up bridesmaid shoes that I can wear with practically any bridesmaid dress.  But, I have 2 back-ups in case the ceremony is in the grass.

Last time I was a bridesmaid, the ceremony was in the grass and I had no idea until the day of.  Even worse, my heels sunk in as I was walking through the grass to get to the aisle runner.  So, as I was walking, I could feel the heel sink in, and I almost started to panic.  How embarrassing would it be if my shoe just came off right in the middle of the ceremony as everyone was watching me?  I would have been completely mortified!

Luckily, the shoe didn’t sink in all the way and I was able to walk all the way to the aisle, however ungracefully it was.  That got me to thinking about what to do on my wedding day.  I haven’t decided on a location, but I would love to have a ceremony outdoors, in the grass.  There’s something about being outdoors with flowers and in a natural setting that really appeals to me.  So, the other day, I came across this site http://thesolemates.com/.  It’s a site that sells these clear covers that you put on your heels that will prevent your shoes from slipping in the grass.  It’s simply amazing because you can put them on and take them off without anyone really noticing.  Plus, they protect your heel so the heels don’t get dirty or get stuck like mine.

For anyone having an outdoor wedding, I would consider buying these to protect your bridal shoes and your bridesmaid shoes.  I’ve already bought some since I can wear these with any of my heels and any of my future heels for other weddings I’ll be going to.
