For my wedding, I’ve been thinking a lot about buying a pair of designer wedding shoes. I keep thinking it’s the perfect excuse to buy some couture shoes since what more important day is there? Of course you all know I love designer shoes, but I don’t buy them a lot. I usually just drag my fiancé around to all the stores and look at them and try them on. Ever since I started wedding planning, I’ve cut down on some of my expenses since there are so many things I want to buy for the wedding. Still, I can’t help looking and wanting to still buy a pair of designer bridal shoes.
I’ve looked around at all types of designer shoes like Vera Wang bridal shoes and just can’t seem to decide what I want. Some of you may have seen my last posts on Manolo wedding shoes, Jimmy Choo wedding shoes, or my friend’s blog on Stuart Weitzman bridal shoes. There are just so many that I don’t know where to start, especially since I can only buy one pair.
My first thought was that these designer bridal shoes would be too expensive, especially since I wouldn’t be able to wear them again. I thought my fiancé wouldn’t go for them since my usual justification for nice shoes is that I will wear them again and again and again. But, last year, at my friend’s wedding, I saw her in a pair of silver wedding shoes that she has worn again and again to so many functions. She told me that she used her wedding as an excuse to get a pair of brand name shoes, but she’s found that they are way more useful than she would have thought. Plus, wearing them reminds her of her wedding day, something that always makes her happy. Also, she chose shoes that were different, something unique that you couldn’t really find elsewhere. Her other criteria were that they be traditional and something classic. So, this combination allows her to wear them again and again.
Recently, I decided to poll my friends to see what they did. I found that one third of them purchased cheap wedding shoes since they believed that they wouldn’t wear them again and that it was a waste of money. Another third purchased regular white shoes. The amount of time they’ve worn them again has been minimal. Surprisingly, the final third purchased designer shoes. Not all of these brides had owned a pair before so I was really surprised by how many of them had purchased couture bridal shoes for their wedding. A lot of them admitted that they always wanted name brand shoes from Saks or Bloomingdale’s, but they always thought they couldn’t afford them. So, for their wedding, they splurged. The most surprising thing was that all of them have worn the shoes again multiple times, actually a lot more than the women who purchased cheaper shoes or the plain white ones. I couldn’t believe it! I had a case for my fiancé!
So, I have been searching the stores for a great pair of designer wedding shoes. It isn’t easy choosing just one, but I know I’ll find the perfect pair. In the chaos of wedding planning, going to stores to try on a pair of luxurious shoes is heaven. I can’t wait until I find the perfect pair.
