Recently, I've been looking for a wedding photographer.  In order to do this, I've been looking online at all of the different photographer websites that have been recommended to me.   One thing I noticed was that they always take a picture of the wedding shoes!  The shoes are always laid out nicely, either on the bed or somewhere bright.  One shoe crosses the other delicately or something like that.  After looking through a ton of photography websites and seeing all of these shoes, I'm starting to wonder what type of shoes we should all buy.

The thing is, at first, I really wanted designer wedding shoes.  They are gorgeous and beautiful and I can't get enough of them.  But, as my wedding budget has grown and grown, I can't help wondering if I should buy some cheap wedding shoes instead.  After realizing that every photographer will take a picture of the shoes, I'm starting to wonder if I should spend more?

The thing is, I don't want to look back on my pictures and see a pair of shoes that I settled for.  I want to look at my shoes and think about how excited I was to put them on and how much I wanted to wear them all night for my wedding day!  And then, what happens when the photographer comes and takes a picture of my shoes?  Is he or she going to judge me on those shoes?  Those are practically the first thing they photograph!  Is he or she going to take a picture of those and then think "wow, this bride really doesn't have great quality stuff.  Maybe I should take less pictures of her attire and focus on her face or the groom?"

You just don't know what the wedding photographers think in their heads.  I certainly don't want them to judge me by my shoes.  Recently, I was in a wedding where my friend wore a pair of Vera Wang wedding shoes to match her Vera Wang wedding dress.  You should have heard the photographer talking about her shoes!  She must've taken a dozen pictures of those shoes.  I really think it's because the were Vera Wang.  The photographer could instantly tell these were great designer shoes and she even asked if she could showcase them on her blog.  It really made me think about how much these photographers look at your stuff and how much they judge you by the items.  After the Vera Wang shoes, this photographer went on to talk about all of the other items the bride had.  She even thought that the tiara was made of real diamonds since she assumed that anyone who bought Vera Wang bridal shoes and a Vera Wang dress would make sure to only have the highest quality tiara!  Can you believe it?

Anyways, maybe it doesn't matter and maybe we should just pick what we like?  I don't know?  Tell me what you're thinking!  One thought is that if the photographer was so judgemental, I hope to be able to tell right away when I first meet them.  The other thing is, I think I'm going to wear some old comfortable shoes to all of my meetings with the photographers.  This way, if they are instantly snobby because of my shoes, I will know not to hire them!
