I've been thinking about what color shoes to match my cream dress and have been trying to figure out if gold bridal shoes or ivory wedding shoes would look better. So, I polled my friends and past brides to see what they thought and here are the pros and cons for gold versus ivory.
Gold: 1. Adds the perfect bling to your outfit. Gold is sparkly, but since they are on your feet, they won't be overwhelming. 2. You can definitely wear the gold shoes over again with any future outfit - they look great with your the little black dress. 3. There is a huge selection of gold bridal shoes since gold is used for regular evening shoes as well. 4. Gold shoes tend to be trendier so you may not be able to wear them for years. 5. Your friends may have fabulous gold shoes for you to borrow so you won't have to buy them.
Ivory: 1. Ivory wedding shoes are classic and traditional. 2. Ivory matches better with a cream colored wedding dress. 3. The color ivory won't stand out too much so if you want to emphasize the dress, then ivory is a lot more understated and muted. 4. It will be hard to wear the shoes for a night out, but the color will match well with pastel color dresses that you will wear during the Spring or to weddings. 5. Ivory bridal shoes can last longer since they aren't as fashionable so you may be able to pass these shoes on to your daughter. Whatever you choose, I think you can't go wrong with either. In the end, I learned that it all depends on your personality. If you want to be more glamorous and have your shoes stand out more, go with the gold bridal shoes. If you want to be more classic and traditional and match your dress, go with the ivory wedding shoes.
