I know a lot of brides that want to buy designer wedding shoes for their wedding.  The thought is, you’ve bought an amazing wedding dress so why not pair them with a pair of amazing designer bridal shoes?  Pairing them with a pair of cheaper wedding shoes just doesn’t seem right.  For some women, buying the cheaper shoes is OK since they splurged and put all of their money on the dress.  I know a ton of women out there who did that.  For others, having a pair of more expensive shoes to match the outfit seems only right.  If you have a Vera Wang dress, why not pair it with Vera Wang bridal shoes?  Plus, since it is their wedding day, they want every detail to be perfect and the last thing they want is for somebody to look down at their feet and think about how cheap their shoes look.

So, I decided to look for the best tips on scoring great designer wedding shoes.  If you have to buy them, why not buy them on sale?

Tip #1:  Check the sales racks, even in high-end stores:  You may not think that the Saks Fifth Avenue or the Bloomingdale’s of the world ever have discounts, but you would be surprised.  They have to buy shoes and clothes just like everyone else.  This year, some of them are hurting more than anyone else and you would be surprised by what you can get.  Before Christmas, they cleared out a ton of their merchandise early and they are continuing to do that since less people are shopping for high-end merchandise.  Therefore, if you’re diligent, you just might get your designer bridal shoes on sale.  Sign-up online to get weekly emails with discounts and other specials.  Just last week, I saw an email from Bloomingdale’s giving everyone an additional 15% different items.  So, be patient, check often, and don’t give up.

Tip #2:  Check discount stores like DSW Warehouse, Nordstrom Rack, or the Saks Fifth Avenue Outlet.  All of these places will carry luxury shoes for less.  Since these shoes were all in the store from before, you know that they will be great quality shoes.  Since these are all outlets, the prices will be 30% to sometimes 70% off.  I’ve found some great quality shoes there for really low prices.  Also, white shoes may not always be something all women want to buy so you can score your white wedding shoes for less at these places.  Again, for these places, you have to check often since merchandise gets purchased really fast and they may not always have your size.  I would find out when the stores get their merchandise in (usually on a Tuesday or Wednesday, after the weekend), and try to stop in on those days.  Those are the days when you will have a lot more selection in terms of size and style.  Try to avoid going on a weekend when a lot of the items have been sold out and the new merchandise hasn’t come in.

Tip #3:  Check online:  I’ve found a great assortment of designer wedding shoes for you to buy.  If you don’t find what you’re looking for, then go to other online stores.  If you want designer, go to online designer stores like eluxury.com or bluefly.com have great designer items.  The only thing is that just like the outlets, their items go fast.  Make it a habit of checking the website often.  If you see something you like, don’t hesitate to buy it.  Decide how much you are willing to spend so you can act fast when you’re browsing online.

Tip #4:  Check on eBay:  I just looked at eBay and there are a ton of women selling their designer shoes.  Many of these are brides who have only worn their shoes once or twice.  Some are just women wanting new styles.  Why not get your something old here?
