Wedding Flip Flops – Should I buy a pair? |

After looking through countless stores for your wedding day shoes, you will inevitably bring them home and try them on. Then, to break them in, you will wear them around the house just to make sure they are comfortable. So many times, I have heard brides say that after 1 hour in the shoes, they are extremely uncomfortable. The bridal shoes that were so amazing in the store, are really hurting her feet. How could they know this though? Actually, any shoe with a heel that is 1 inch or higher will inevitably start to hurt. This is completely unavoidable. Because of the height of the heels, the pressure on the balls of your feet start to build up until you can no longer stand it. Also, the higher the heel, the more the shoes will hurt after awhile. More than 75% of brides choose a higher heel shoe so that they can stand taller on their wedding day. Let’s face it, most of the time, the wedding dresses are made for women who are 5’10’’ so any height that you can add will help you look better in that gown. However, because you opt for the higher heel, your feet will definitely start to really hurt after an hour or 2 in those shoes. So, what to do? One solution to this, which has actually become a huge trend for many brides is to buy an extra pair of wedding flip flops to change into after the ceremony. The wedding flip flops will save your feet and allow you to have a lot more fun on your wedding day. Wedding flip flops are flat so your feet will not feel that same type of pressure on the balls of them. Plus, with your heavy wedding gown, your feet have more pressure to hold you up. Also, wedding flip flops are now being made with extra rhinestones, Swarovski crystals, and also in different heel heights, like 2 inch flip flops or 3 inch flip flops to match the height of your bridal shoes. There are so many different types of flip flops being offered to the bride that you will find a good selection, no matter how much you want to spend or how detailed you want the flip flops. For the bride that wants to save money, a simple white flip flop also works for the big day. You can buy these white flip flops in any store that sells summer flip flops – everywhere from J. Crew to Old Navy. It is not necessary to buy specific bridal flip flops unless you are searching for something to match your dress. Even then, it is really hard to match your dress, and I know most of you have long dresses so nobody will really see the flip flops anyways. Also, by then, all of your most important pictures have been taken so changing into the flip flops after the ceremony and the first dance does not matter as much. Wedding flip flops can really save you and will allow you to enjoy the entire night with your husband and your guests. Another good tip is to wear them while walking around with the photographer, then change into your wedding shoes for the ceremony, and then change back. A lot of brides opt to do their first dance in their wedding shoes and will then change into the wedding flip flops afterwards while they get down on the dance floor. If you want your feet to be happy throughout the night and even during your honeymoon, and if you want to still be happy at the end of the night, I would buy a pair of bridal flip flops to change into.
