After looking through countless stores for your wedding day shoes, you will inevitably bring them home and try them on. Then, to break them in, you will wear them around the house just to make sure they are comfortable. So many times, I have heard brides say that after 1 hour in the shoes, they are extremely uncomfortable. The bridal shoes that were so amazing in the store, are really hurting her feet. How could they know this though?
Actually, any shoe with a heel that is 1 inch or higher will inevitably start to hurt. This is completely unavoidable. Because of the height of the heels, the pressure on the balls of your feet start to build up until you can no longer stand it. Also, the higher the heel, the more the shoes will hurt after awhile. More than 75% of brides choose a higher heel shoe so that they can stand taller on their wedding day. Let’s face it, most of the time, the wedding dresses are made for women who are 5’10’’ so any height that you can add will help you look better in that gown. However, because you opt for the higher heel, your feet will definitely start to really hurt after an hour or 2 in those shoes. So, what to do?
One solution to this, which has actually become a huge trend for many brides is to buy an extra pair of wedding flip flops to change into after the ceremony. The wedding flip flops will save your feet and allow you to have a lot more fun on your wedding day. Wedding flip flops are flat so your feet will not feel that same type of pressure on the balls of them. Plus, with your heavy wedding gown, your feet have more pressure to hold you up.
