A lot of brides have written to me about finding the perfect ivory wedding shoes. Today, I’m going to talk specifically about that and provide you with tips on how to find them. First off, the ivory wedding shoe is fantastic to wear with your ivory wedding dress. White definitely does not work with an ivory dress, especially since the white will just glare and stand out against the ivory. Ivory is such a gorgeous color and it is both traditional and classic to wear it. If you’ve chosen an ivory dress, don’t worry, there are plenty of ivory shoes to choose from.

When looking for your ivory bridal shoes, the first thing you should do is get a color swatch of your dress. Most of you may not have received your dress yet, but you know that the shoes are really key to buy now. Don’t wait until the last minute or you won’t have a good selection and you will be scrambling to find that perfect pair. The swatch is important because there are many shades of ivory. Some ivory is closer to yellow while other ivory is closer to white. You want to make sure you know what shade your dress is so you don’t buy the wrong thing.

Second, start looking at the different shoe styles. Do you want a more classic and traditional shoe like a pump or a simple peep toe? Or, are you looking for a trendier or fun shoe, something more strappy or with a platform or with more designs? Knowing the style that you want will help your salesperson and everyone else find the shoe you want.

Next, after you’ve figured out ideas for what you want, email your bridesmaids, your friends and your mother and sisters. Telling everyone you know to be on the lookout will help you in your search. Anytime your friends walk into a DSW or Nordstrom’s or any other store, they can swing by and look for your shoes while they are looking for their own shoes. Then, you can ask them to take a picture and send it over to you so you can see what they’ve found. You want as many people as you can looking out for your perfect shoe so you can find it faster and easier.
