Are you considering wearing platform wedding shoes for your wedding?  Then, you will have to know how to wear them.  Wearing platform bridal shoes can be a fantastic option, but you will need to make sure you do a few things before you are ready.  Follow these instructions below so you will know how to wear wedding platform shoes.

 

 

First, practice walking around in them.  Every girl who wants to wear high heels has had to practice.  Do not think that these shoes are the same as stilettos.  For some of you, who are used to wearing 5 inch heels, you may have no problem wearing these high heels.  However, for those that are not used to wearing heels that are so high, you need to make sure you practice.  The one thing you don’t want to do is wobble around while you greet your guests and walk down the aisle on your big day.  You want to glide and look tall and confident.  So, first, practice walking.  This means, practice walking on grass if your wedding is outdoors, or practice walking on concrete and indoors in the slippery ballroom floor if you are getting married inside.  Making sure you are familiar with the floor that you are walking on is of utmost importance.  Also, when walking, understand that your feet will not touch the ground, but will instead touch the top of the shoe.  This means that not only will you have to balance the back of the heels, but you will have to balance the front as well.

The second thing is to make sure that you can balance in these shoes.  Wedding platform shoes should be more comfortable and easier to balance on.  The extra half inch to one inch in front allows your feet to be far more comfortable than shoes without the platform.  However, the heels are sometimes extra high as well.  They can be as high as 5 inches so make sure you can stand and walk.  When walking in the shoes, take smaller steps.  You cannot stretch your feet out as wide as you would with regular heels.  You also must move a little slower and do not pick up your foot, but glide across the floor.  All of these little tricks will help you walk in a more elegant, ladylike fashion.

Finally, with your platform wedding shoes, make sure that your dress hits at least one inch above the ground.  You absolutely do not want to step on your dress.  Since the shoes have to be balanced in the front and back, your footing will not be as good as regular shoes.  Therefore, I recommend one inch instead of the half inch so that you will be sure to not step on the front of the dress.  When you go in for the alterations, absolutely bring those shoes in so they will alter your dress correctly.

Platform bridal shoes are fantastic to wear, but you have to practice and be very careful.  Otherwise, you will find yourself on the ground in a most unflattering position.
