Recently, we’ve noticed a hot new trend with wedding shoes. Black wedding shoes! Yes, black is in and everyone from brides to their bridesmaids is wearing it, using it in napkins and favors and splashing it all over their weddings. At first, we couldn’t believe it ourselves. How in the world could black be such a popular color wedding shoe that brides have been purchasing recently? But, as we interviewed brides and did more research we figured out a few key reasons that brides have been purchasing fabulous black shoes for their wedding.

1. First and foremost, the number and types of shoes made in black are so much greater than any other color. Yes, if you look for a black bridal shoe, you will have so many more choices and variety. Looking for a strappy platform with rhinestone details? There are at least 5 of them. Want a 2 inch heel with a pointed toe? Yes, you’ll find at least 8 of them all in different designs and styles. Want an elegant satin heel? There are plenty in black. Plus, some of you can even buy some fabulous black boots for the winter and first wear them under your dress! Yes, if you go for black wedding shoes, you’ll find that you have so many to choose from that you don’t have to send your bridesmaids and mother out to look for them. Instead, you can just saunter into any store or go online anywhere and find a huge selection for you to choose from.

2. The second most important reason, and we almost made this the first reason, is that you can wear the shoes again. Go to your closet and look through all of your shoes. Now, count how many pairs of black shoes you have. Most of us have at least 5. Yes, we don't have white shoes or ivory shoes. Instead, we have a ton of black shoes that match with lots of different outfits. So, the second most important reason to buy black is so you can have shoes that you can wear again after your wedding. One fabulous bride said it the best "I wanted shoes that had a purpose again after the ceremony." How many of you have a friend who bought white shoes or ivory shoes and never wore those shoes again? We at WeddingFeet believe you can wear all of your shoes again, but we know that the easiest color shoes to wear again are your black wedding shoes. Black is just an easy color to match with every single outfit in your closet and buying a beautiful pair of black bridal shoes just means that you get to wear these shoes again and again after your wedding. This way, you will have something fun to remember your wedding by, especially since you won't get to wear your wedding dress again, nor will you get to repeat the wedding, or the flowers, invitations, etc. The wedding is a one time event, but the shoes can last forever.

3. The third reason to wear black underneath your wedding dress is that it is gorgeous. Black and white complement each other so well. Look at tuxedos and penguins and the color wheel! Black and white are complete opposites so each color acts to show off the other color. Check out these gorgeous brides we’ve found below in their black wedding shoes. 4. Finally, the last, but one of our best reasons to buy black is because you might just have an easier time convincing your fiancé to let you spend a little bit more on the shoes. Why? Because you know that you’ll be able to wear the shoes again.
