The most important part of choosing a bridal shoe is to choose one that will make you feel gorgeous! Although you should think about your dress and the setting of your wedding, ONLY buy a wedding shoe that YOU like. I’ve seen so many of my friends buy high heels, when all they wear all day are flats. On their wedding day, after 1 hour, they start to complain about their shoes and I wonder why they didn’t just purchase flat bridal shoes or some low bridal shoes? So, first thing to consider is your style.
Your style is showcased in so many ways and I understand that it is hard to narrow down. You may have a casual, everyday style, but for your wedding, you may have opted for something different. So, consider both your own personal style and the style you’ve chosen for your wedding. If you’re planning an elegant wedding with all of the lace and frills, consider a pair of pointy, closed toe lacy heels; if your wedding is more trendy, consider a pair of silver or gold wedding shoes that will not only sparkle and show off your feet, but be useful for wearing out later.
Next, consider your personal style. Your wedding is all about celebrating you and your fiancé so don’t let other people influence your style. If you have a more casual, laid back style, then stick with that. If you prefer wearing flats, then wear flat wedding shoes on your wedding day. Go with what is more comfortable and what you will be happy in. If you are more flamboyant, then get some designer bridal shoes. Anything you choose will be fine. It is your day.
Finally, don’t forget, if you never wear 3 inch heels, don’t try to pull them off on your wedding day for the very first time. If you do want heels, choose some low bridal shoes. Don’t go for platform wedding shoes if you aren’t used to them. I’ve seen plenty of brides do something different. A lot of times, this works, but a lot of times, it does not. If you want to do something different, choose flowers that people would never think of for you or give out wedding favors that are unique and different. Don’t make a new statement with your shoes. They are too important to your feet and it will be hard to change them half way into your wedding day.
