This was the most important lesson that I learned on my wedding day and I want to make sure you don’t make the same mistake I did – Remember: you are on your feet for most of the day!
Don’t forget that you’ll be walking down the aisle, posing for photographs, greeting your guests, and probably dancing all night in your shoes. This could add up to more than 12 hours on your feet! Make sure you have comfortable bridal shoes! Otherwise, on your honeymoon, your feet will be sore for the first few days and ou won't have a good time. Or, you'll be like my friend at the end of her wedding - sitting down at her table, unable to show off her dress or go dancing with her guests. Here are some tips for you to avoid this disaster:
1)Buy a second pair of shoes to change into. I’ve found the cutest flip flops, flats, and even a pair of sneakers that can match your dress! Buy a pair as back-up to save your feet! You'll wish you had something to change into at the end of the night besides the hotel slippers so pick up some wedding flip flops, flats or more than one shoefor more details.
Here are some great comfortable shoes for you to choose from. More tips are down below.
Heel Height: 3" Color: White silk Style: Wedge Style notes: Trendy wedge goes formal with sparkling crystals and rhinestones embellished on the straps.
Heel Height: 2" Color: Green, red, blue Style notes: Luxurious silk straps with a pleated front and wedge heels make for the perfectly comfortable shoe.
Heel Height: 3 1/4" Color: Light pink, Light silver Style notes: Decorated with a simple, gorgeous flower, these wedge heels are elegant and designed for comfort.
Height: 3 1/2" Color: Ivory, black Style notes: Perfect for wearing under your wedding dress and all the time, these gorgeous and comfortable heels are stunning.
2)Put some cushion in your wedding shoes to help decrease the impact. Add insoles or other cushions that I've found. The extra cushion will give you padding to make your feet more comfortable. Plus, you can take these cushions out and use them with your other heels later on.
3)Again, for those that never go above 2 inches, don’t do it now. 2 inch wedding shoes should be the highest go if you still want to be comfortable all day long. Or, look for shoes with platforms so that the 3 or 4 inches will feel like 2 or 3 inches. Unless you are like Carrie in her Manolos, don’t buy heels that are higher than 2 inches. Go to the 2 inch heel height section here to find your perfect shoes.
4)Buy open toe shoes to give your feet more room to move and your toes more air to breathe. I've noticed that closed toe shoes tend to squeeze your toes in the front. Then, the higher the heel, the worse your toes feel since all of the pressure gets put on the balls of your feet and on your toes. Buying open toe shoes or peep toes will help to give your feet more room to wiggle. Plus, the air will help if your feet get sweaty.
